Congressman Garrett Thanks American Airlines for Charitable Investment in Charlottesville
WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, American Airlines generously committed to donate $150,000 to the Habitat for Humanity in Charlottesville, Virginia. In a letter to Habitat for Humanity, American Airlines CEO Doug Parker, stated: “We won’t stand by and let others attempt to tear down the foundation that our country was built upon."
American Airlines seeks to bring people together, and they, along with Habitat for Humanity, have combined forces to build strong foundations for our future generations, especially for those who are suffering in Charlottesville.
In response to American Airline’s generous contribution, Virginia’s Fifth District Congressman Tom Garrett (VA-05) issued the following statement:
“On behalf of Charlottesville, I want to thank American Airlines for their benevolence. As our community strives to come together and rebuild, we must focus on what we have in common and not what separates us. The outreach from AA is a step in the right direction.”
